Adventure Travel

(Excerpt from my book As Long as the Wind Blows)

Please don’t get me started on the so-called adventure travel. You book your flight to San Jose on Air Costa Rica. You book your air-con room at Posada Ecologica del Tucan Costipado. You book your bungee jump and zip-line ride to get your adrenaline rushed and pheromones augmented at a pristine jungle location. You fly back home. You Facebook and Instagram your “adventure” and everybody happy. You may call this type of human behavior anything you want, but it’s not adventure travel. So what is true adventure travel, you ask? You haven’t been paying attention.
